Babydoll Sheep
Olde English “Babydoll” sheep make great companions as they are considered non-agressive and docile. Their fleece can be used for cashmere, and is ideal for blending with other materials. Babydoll sheep naturally weed without harming crops. Whie always seeming to show a smile, Babydoll sheep are a very beneficial addition to your herd.
Oakwood Farm has managed to keep our breeding pure so that the original babydoll confirmation remains prominent in our herd. Fortunately, we have worked diligently with our genetics to produce spotted offspring. We offer registered lambs, ewes, and rams.
The standard for the Olde English “Babydoll” Southdown Sheep was taken directly from the Southdown Sheep Society in England. One of the oldest of the English breeds of sheep is the Southdown, originating in England. These small sheep were know for their extreme hardiness and produced meat with unmatched tenderness and flavor then any other breed of sheep. It is believed that the breed reached the United States in 1803.
